Bill was born on November 28, 1955, in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1977 and graduated from the University of Kentucky Law School in 1980.  Bill has previous work experience in accounting, as well as with the Internal Revenue Service, and has practiced law privately in various large and small firms since 1980. He has also taught individual, business entity, and estate and gift tax courses at the University of Kentucky.  In addition, he has written several law journal articles and has appeared on television and radio, as well as in print media, with respect to various tax-related subjects. Bill has been a speaker on estate planning, probate, and corporate tax issues at various seminars sponsored by bar associations, trade associations, continuing legal education providers, and private companies in Kentucky.

While Bill’s original practice was primarily tax based and he continues to provide tax and estate planning services, over the years his practice has become more concentrated on acquisitions, dispositions and other transactional and planning matters for business clients.  His tax background has given him a unique perspective, permitting him to key in on both the business and the tax considerations necessary for effective business representation.

Bill is admitted to practice in Kentucky and Ohio, as well as before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Kentucky and the Southern District of Ohio.
